At least one of Samsung Connect Home device needs to be connected via LAN cable. So if you have just one Samsung connect home and your existing router, it will not work as a range extender.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it can be used as a second router. In the Network Settings of the app there is a setting for Network Mode: "Bridge". It gives the description of: "Connect to an existing network and relay the network connection to other devices. Some settings, such as Bandwidth priority, Restrict usage time, and Port forwarding aren't available in Bridge more." It should also be able to run as a Smartthings hub as well since they are considered two separate devices in the app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To the first question: Yes, the Connect home can be used as a wireless access point the same as any other router, but it will require manual configuration in the command line of the device itself. To the second question: The connect home should be usable as a smart hub regardless of whether or not it's being used as a router, but my understanding is that it will only work with devices connected to its network, so (in theory) devices on the original network that you are then extending with the Connect Home wouldn't be controllable with the Samsung Connect App. Bear in mind that this is also conjecture, the Samsung website doesn't say any of that, and the internet doesn't have any answers for that in particular, so it's plausible that I'm 100% wrong about both of my answers. So take them with a grain of salt, but they should be (in theory) be correct.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Very sure if it’s the same Samsung manufacturing.
