It is the case - when you raise the charger vertical there isn't enough clearance at the bottom of the charger for the phone to sit properly and be propped up so the NFC chip in the back of the phone touches the charging base. I had similar problems with a thicker case (not as as thick as an Otterbox), but when I went with a much slimmer case - no more vertical charging problems
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The charging pad has specific spots like charging coils in s rectangular shape do that when your phone lays on the pad flat it will "touch" enough coils to start the charging process. The only thing I can think of would be that when you are trying to charge it vertically the higher raised borders around the ports and camera may cause your phone to not line up with or get close enough / touch enough charging coils to initiate a charge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Gravity pushes down on it which brings it closer to the contact. It would work if you stood it up it’s base and held it against the charger. Try standing the phone on it’s side, against the charger. it usually works for me. You may also have to move it to find the sweet spot
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Gravity holds the case closer to the contact. Try standing it up on its side not on its base. Landscape vs portrait
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The same problem (need for tight contact) exists for any device in a thick protective case. The flat orientation provides somewhat improved contact between charger and device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you turn the phone from vertical to landscape it will work in the charger upright position.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had this problem as well. It seems that's the upright position with or without a case is finicky.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Might be that the bottom is not making contact to charge due to bottom of case on phone. I have the new style charger with Galaxy 8 Active for which I do not need case. Different product but I had a similar problem with case on iPod - tried to charge it on an iPod dedicated Bose speaker - had to take off case in order to charge IPod.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The case you choose is too thick for wireless charging. When you stand tghe case up there is less pressure on the back of the charger. Try a thinner case like the Spigen brand.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Base Charging Station is only meant to work with the Mophie Juice Pack. You are trying to charge yourGalaxy through a case that doesn't take a charge, hence the issue.
