Hey Eric I have the S8 (not the +). I have tested this gear's ability to wirelessly charge my S8 while in (3) different cases, one slim, one medium, one as thick as an Otter Defender. It charged it in all three!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a clear case on my Galaxy S8+ and I have no problem. I would suggest you contact Samsung for I had an "Otter Box" on a previous model. I am not sure about the thickness of the "Otter Box" connectivity.
