“Is there a heat loss through the split in the door when the divider is not in place? ie is the door hot, can you feel heat escaping through the split when the oven is on and the door is closed?”

Have had this range since November 2016. Cannot feel heat escaping thoguh the split when the oven is on and the door is closed. No heat escape noticed.
