Expensive but great stove!
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5We decided to spend the extra money for this stove because of - Fit and finish which gives a built in look - The Flex Duo oven - The higher BTU front burner - Center burner - The included griddle and wok attachment - The light up dials showing that the burners are on - The Wifi/Smartthings connectivity I really don't have anything to complain about. The touch screen is user friendly, the high BTU burner quickly boils a pot of water, I love being able to use my wok more like a professional and being able to glance at the knobs to tell if a burner is on is real handy. I haven't used the griddle yet but there should be nothing to that. And the oven heats up very quickly especially when the oven is split. The stove is also really easy to clean. The only con is that it doesn't seem to bake well when using the top split oven. I have been burning baked goods before the center is cooked. This is most likely because the high proximity to the top burner. You either have to rotate and move the pan from side to side or use the bottom portion if you don't want to use the whole oven. We feel that this range was a good investment. Especially if you want that built in look because this unit has the top wings that cover the gap between the stove and counter eliminating spills and crumbs from getting in ther. Other brands have gotten away from that feather and ultimately it looks like just another free standing unit.

Excellent
|Posted .This is an excellent working range. Samsung 5.8 flex duo smart gas range is the best we've had. We had a $5000 Thermadore that was a lemon after 2 1/2 years. Glad it went out. This Samsung is great looking, gas cooktop is very fun and efficient cooking and the convection duo stove is wonderful. Just love it. My husband and I both cook and bake a lot. I hated cooking and baking with that thermadore. I've been cooking and baking for 45 years and it's the worst I've ever used. NOW USING THIS SUMSUNG, the JOY is back into cooking for me. I am truly THANKFUL

So far, could not be happier
|Posted .We have only had this oven/range for 3 weeks, but so far, it is exactly as advertised. The two separate ovens in one is genius and work great. I was concerned that the top would not clean up after splattering grease, but cleans to look like new. Very sharp. The only niggle is that the top oven only has convection, not traditional bake which takes some getting used to. Have not used the wifi to program while away, but it did pair with my wifi with no problem. Would highly recommend.

Welcome to SMART Cooking!
Posted .Our initial impressions as the range was being unpacked, well this one’s a "looker'. Sleek and well designed. The installer actually commented, this one is loaded with features! As we have used this range over the past week, there are many positives that have struck us. 1) Safety - the blue led lights on burner knobs are lit on when either the gas burner or oven is in use. This is a big safety feature for families having little kids and bigger forgetful folks like me (been guilty of doing that in the past). 2) The increased clearance provided by design for the burner and base grate is more than our previous range. This makes the flame rise to the vessel rather than being spread out of the perimeter of pan or pots. Big plus for optimal coverage and reduces loss of heat to the periphery. And, then it also prevents the handles from being exposed to the flame. 3) The wok grate (circular support base) for woks, invariably an integral part of Indian and oriental cooking, is one of our favorite features. The inverted slant on the grate for support provides perfect stability for the wok and prevents it from wobbling. This ranks very high in my opinion especially for Indian households where deep frying is a near daily cooking feature. 4) The center burner is well sized, providing good coverage to the griddle and make multiple rotis (Indian bread) at once. 5) The flex oven feature is brilliant. Allows two distinct cooking options in roast or bake at differing temperatures. The temperature probe is an added bonus. 6) All these combined with the feature rich digital control panel (delay start, keep warm) with SMART connectivity to your phone to control oven options makes it a feature pack Smart Cooking range All these and more, make this flex duo offering, an ideal choice for households, wanting to create a SMART Home ecosystem. P.S. The well-spread out design for burners and steel body makes it super easy to clean

My Dream Oven
|Posted .My recently rebuilt home (#RebuildforLindsay), needed a good quality range and I always wanted to own a gas range. After spending much time on Pintrest, I narrowed down my dream oven and came across this Samsung range at the store. I love all of the great features that it offers, I haven't used them all yet, like the Smart feature, but I'm getting there. My builder set it up so I am unsure of that part of the process. Everyday use is so much fun and I am never worried about any dangerous gas leaks. The flames on the stove burn even and each burner has a different burner size for different size pans. I am able to cook up to 5 different things at a time using different pans. The flame settings are easy to adjust from really high to really low and just in between. It's much better than electric because it heats things up much quicker. There is a heavy duty cast iron griddle that is included which is specifically designed for the middle burner. One side is flat and the other has slits in it, its great for making pancakes or grilling steaks. Its does get messy but clean-up is easy by removing the cast iron burners. The dual oven is awesome and I typically use the bottom one only for cooking. The top portion will burn food quick and it's better to be used for broiling. There is a middle shelf can be easily removed to cook something bigger, like a large casserole. The touchscreen for the stove is easy to use. The only thing that I don't like is that when I have the oven on and I need to lean to get to the back burner, I turn the oven off with my stomach. It's a little sensitive and I'm not sure if that can be adjusted. I am proud of purchase and this stove is the center piece of my new kitchen!

Amazing range
Posted .I am absolutely loving my new Samsung 5.8 Cu ft slide in Gas flex Duo Range with Dual door! It is a dream compared to my previous stove from the 60's. I never knew what I was missing until I got my new range. It fires up quite nicely without any hesitation. Each of the 5 burners work with as little or as much flame power as I need. It will easily adjust with the knobs on the front with little hesitation. They glow a pretty blue to let you know that you have the stove top burner on. The light can be seen from across the room. What I like is that you have to push the knobs in so that it will turn on the burner. This is a great safety feature to prevent the stove from turning on while cleaning. The middle burner is perfect for using the griddle that is included, (which is very heavy duty by the way...it's cast iron) I can also use it for oblong pots or pans. There is even a wok burner attachment! It burns so hot that I can get rid of my electric wok and use this instead! The simmer burner is perfect for making stews or chili. All of the other burners are great too! The flames can go very high, which I would not have to use them on full blast because my pots are not big enough! The range allows me to cook evenly so I don't have to keep moving my chicken pieces around the pot to make sure that it's evenly cooked. I just flip and it cooks nicely all around. The oven part of the range is awesome! I love the look of it and the way that it functions! The dual door is a great option for me so that I can cook multiple items at once. The door has a locking feature so that I can just open the top door my itself if I don't want to disturb what is cooking below. There are two lights inside, one for the top oven and the other for the bottom oven. I can turn them on independently or together. The oven comes with multiple racks that can be adjusted to various positions within the two ovens. The touch screen is a nice added feature as well as the wi-fi connectibility. (still learning about the wifi) The touch screen pad responds quickly and with ease. A touch of the button and this oven does what I need it to. There is even a Sabbath mode on this oven. (not a feature I would use, but I would imagine that some people would find this very useful) There is a lockout feature on this range as well. Hold the button down for 3 seconds and it will lock the touchpad from being utilized until you hold it down again for another 3 seconds. This feature will also lock the oven door shut. This is a very nice for someone who has a child. The range has a warming drawer on the bottom as well. One drawback is that it is not very deep, but I can live with that. It's a very heavy and durable range that can be enjoyed for years to come! Overall, this range is a beauty and has a lot of great features that other ranges do not. I am very pleased with it and look forward to using it for many dishes to come!

Versatile oven, great for baking
|Posted .I’ve had my new range for about 2 months now. I spent a lot of time researching which range would be best for me and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! I love to bake and was looking for an oven that had convection. I also wanted a double oven to be able to make 2 things at once and the smaller oven to be able to warm food quickly. This oven has all of that with the ability to convert to a full size oven if need be. The stove top has a powerful burner that brings water to a boil very quickly. The top is stainless steel. I was worried that it would be difficult to clean, but that hasn’t been a problem at all. I highly recommend this range!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Bought this range mainly because I liked the way it looked. The two-part door is even more practical and useful than I anticipated. After having it for a few months, I’ve probably used the oven 40 times and only needed the bottom portion of range twice. Also, my kitchen is open to the living and dining areas, so range is very visible. I think every person that’s walked into the area has complimented how nice it looks.

Q: QuestionWith the oven divider in place, can just the upper section be used for smaller dishes without heating the entire oven?
Asked by santabarbarian.
- A:Answer When the divider is in place, the bake feature is not available. You have to use the convection feature. I have found it to be inconsistent in that mode. It has been disappointing.

Q: QuestionDose this stove slide in flush to the wall? Do you need some counter top material behind this to fill in any negative space? Thank You!
Asked by Jodee.
- A:Answer Hi Jodee, there should be a 1 inch gap in the back of stove. It is recommended to get the optional rear filler kit for the negative space. ^Rosi

Q: QuestionIs the cook top black enamel for ease of cleaning or is it stainless steel?

- A:Answer I spoke with a marketing manager for kitchen appliances at Samsung and he said the cooktop is black ceramic on the black stainless model. On the stainless model - it is stainless steel.

Q: QuestionDoes this range come equipped for propane? Or is there some conversion needed?
Asked by MyFirstHome.
- A:Answer Hi MyFirstHome, make sure your range is correctly installed and adjusted by a qualified service technician or installer for the type of gas (natural or LP) you will use. For your range to utilize LP gas, the installer must replace the 5 surface burner orifices and 2 oven orifices with the provided LP orifice set, and reverse the GPR adapter. These adjustments must be made by a qualified service technician in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. ^Rosi

Q: QuestionFlex as in flexible. If I need one large oven, can I pull out the divider and use the entire space for one item?
Asked by zubrit.
- A:Answer Yes you can the divider is removable. It is like a double oven without the commitment to the double oven that is why it is called the flex duo.
