    Amazing range

I am absolutely loving my new Samsung 5.8 Cu ft slide in Gas flex Duo Range with Dual door! It is a dream compared to my previous stove from the 60's. I never knew what I was missing until I got my new range. It fires up quite nicely without any hesitation. Each of the 5 burners work with as little or as much flame power as I need. It will easily adjust with the knobs on the front with little hesitation. They glow a pretty blue to let you know that you have the stove top burner on. The light can be seen from across the room. What I like is that you have to push the knobs in so that it will turn on the burner. This is a great safety feature to prevent the stove from turning on while cleaning. The middle burner is perfect for using the griddle that is included, (which is very heavy duty by the way...it's cast iron) I can also use it for oblong pots or pans. There is even a wok burner attachment! It burns so hot that I can get rid of my electric wok and use this instead! The simmer burner is perfect for making stews or chili. All of the other burners are great too! The flames can go very high, which I would not have to use them on full blast because my pots are not big enough! The range allows me to cook evenly so I don't have to keep moving my chicken pieces around the pot to make sure that it's evenly cooked. I just flip and it cooks nicely all around. The oven part of the range is awesome! I love the look of it and the way that it functions! The dual door is a great option for me so that I can cook multiple items at once. The door has a locking feature so that I can just open the top door my itself if I don't want to disturb what is cooking below. There are two lights inside, one for the top oven and the other for the bottom oven. I can turn them on independently or together. The oven comes with multiple racks that can be adjusted to various positions within the two ovens. The touch screen is a nice added feature as well as the wi-fi connectibility. (still learning about the wifi) The touch screen pad responds quickly and with ease. A touch of the button and this oven does what I need it to. There is even a Sabbath mode on this oven. (not a feature I would use, but I would imagine that some people would find this very useful) There is a lockout feature on this range as well. Hold the button down for 3 seconds and it will lock the touchpad from being utilized until you hold it down again for another 3 seconds. This feature will also lock the oven door shut. This is a very nice for someone who has a child. The range has a warming drawer on the bottom as well. One drawback is that it is not very deep, but I can live with that. It's a very heavy and durable range that can be enjoyed for years to come! Overall, this range is a beauty and has a lot of great features that other ranges do not. I am very pleased with it and look forward to using it for many dishes to come!

Our initial impressions as the range was being unpacked, well this one’s a "looker'. Sleek and well designed. The installer actually commented, this one is loaded with features! As we have used this range over the past week, there are many positives that have struck us. 1) Safety - the blue led lights on burner knobs are lit on when either the gas burner or oven is in use. This is a big safety feature for families having little kids and bigger forgetful folks like me (been guilty of doing that in the past). 2) The increased clearance provided by design for the burner and base grate is more than our previous range. This makes the flame rise to the vessel rather than being spread out of the perimeter of pan or pots. Big plus for optimal coverage and reduces loss of heat to the periphery. And, then it also prevents the handles from being exposed to the flame. 3) The wok grate (circular support base) for woks, invariably an integral part of Indian and oriental cooking, is one of our favorite features. The inverted slant on the grate for support provides perfect stability for the wok and prevents it from wobbling. This ranks very high in my opinion especially for Indian households where deep frying is a near daily cooking feature. 4) The center burner is well sized, providing good coverage to the griddle and make multiple rotis (Indian bread) at once. 5) The flex oven feature is brilliant. Allows two distinct cooking options in roast or bake at differing temperatures. The temperature probe is an added bonus. 6) All these combined with the feature rich digital control panel (delay start, keep warm) with SMART connectivity to your phone to control oven options makes it a feature pack Smart Cooking range All these and more, make this flex duo offering, an ideal choice for households, wanting to create a SMART Home ecosystem. P.S. The well-spread out design for burners and steel body makes it super easy to clean

We have the range at home for 2 months now and use it regularly. I have read most of the reviews that were posted and thought I can add a little more. First, let me say that most of the cooking we do at home is performed at the range top - and of the five burners we have not yet used the center one. But the four that we use are truly outstanding! This area is clearly a HUGE strength of this appliance and it is versatile and easy to use. The 22k burner is extremely powerful - probably as powerful as it gets without going to very high end line. With it we reached searing and oil heating temperature that we have never thought possible on a stove top yet it can be lowered to near-simmer levels. The second strongest (15K) is excellent as well, and the smallest one is a true simmer burner. I really like the design that leaves enough space in the back so that larger skillets or pots can be placed there without overlapping the front burners area. As for the stove, we mostly use the two compartments configuration with the divider in (only once we cooked with the divider out). We do not bake cookies or cakes so I do not have much to say there, but we do cook meat, chicken, fish, and vegetables. Having two compartments is so nice especially when you have a dinner with several courses to bake or roast. Things just move so much faster altogether and of course you can use the compartment to keep things warm before serving. We do not find it a problem that "broil" is only at the top and "bake-no convection" only at the bottom, since you can choose where you place things based on what you need. We have used the oven about a dozen times so far and without exception the results were excellent! Love the touch controls - very easy to follow and responsive. Finally - heat vent - mainly at the back, through very active fans, no problem at all. During extended cooking in the oven, all the external surfaces are only slightly warm and there is no issue of escaping heat, hot knobs, etc. Altogether - for what we need - a great buy!

    Safe and smart range

If you are looking for less than a commercial grade with all the new high tech features, but foremost safety of family, then look no further. What my family and i love most about this range is its smart and safety options. first of all samsung has intregated this range with its smart control options. what that allows the users to do is not only the convience of controlling the dual convections ovens, but also allows you to montior the cooktop. In the gas version, you cannot control the cooktop from the smartthings app, but atleast you can see if you left any of your cooktops on or even the oven. The ovens you can turn on and off from the app. Having two little kids in the house who love to get into things, this is an amazing option. Also, what samsung has done is that they have also built in led lights into the knobs sections of the cooktop, which may not seem like a big deal, but when you have two little kids running around the house and getting into thing, you can easily glance over you shoulder to see if they kids accidently turned on any of the cooktop or just pull out your phone and check. In my opinion, samsung has done an amazing job with this range. It has an amazing 22,000 btu burner, which just makes cooking anything an easy task. The over controls have been placed in the middle of the cooktop knobs in a very sleek and easy touch control screen. The dual flex, dual oven make cooking a large meal just a simple task. The dual ovens can be set to different temperatures and seperate cooking times. The upper oven also has a connection for a temperature probe which allows you to monitor the internal temperature of any item you are cooking, along with its multiple adjustable racks. This is an amazing safe and smart range.

Some issues you should be aware of

I broke my cardinal rule: When you make a significant purchase, you should really download the manual first BEFORE you buy and read it. If I did this, I would have been aware of some limitations regarding the double-oven feature of this product. This oven has some features that only work when in 'single-oven' mode. Food warmer feature: This only works in single-oven mode. So, if you think you can use one of the ovens to keep food warm and the other to bake, forget it. Not available. Upper temperature limit: I like to bake pizzas as hot as possible. The specs say this oven goes to 550 degrees, which I would normally set for pizza. But NOT in double-oven mode. Only up to 480 for each oven. Sorry! Convection / standard bake features (convection uses the interior fans): When using double-oven, convection feature is available in both ovens, but only one oven can use the non-convection bake mode (forgot which one). Temperature differences when using double oven: The allowable temperature difference between the top and bottom oven is about 125 degrees. So, you can bake at 425 in top oven and 300 in bottom oven. But if you wanted to bake at 425 in top and 250 in bottom, it's a no-go! Pros: Front right burner is really powerful! Solid build quality Nice front touch panel (although leaves fingerprints!) Wipe it often. Nice center burner and heavy duty removable griddle Two independent timers Cons: The double-oven limitations described above Doesn't have the utility of a true double oven Timer alarms not loud enough So, if you're ok with the limitations listed, I would still recommend this product!

Great look, oven cavity not well designed

    Posted

We love the black stainless and slide in look. It is really easy to keep clean even with all our kids cooking on it. The gas top works well. We have had this unit 3 months and have not been able to get good results in the oven cavity with or without the divider. With the divider in: The top smaller portion of the oven is where the broiler heating unit is. The result is the heating element is just inches from your food. Even with reduced temperatures we have burned pizzas and taco shells in the time it took to preheat the upper portion of the oven. The technician measured the temperature of the upper unit and measured it as normal. The bottom portion also reads slightly lower than expected with the divider in. I have good results cooking smaller items in the lower portion with the divider in. With the divider removed: With the oven preheated to 400 F the technician gets a temperature reading of around 400 at the top of the oven and 250 at the bottom (this is with convection running.) This cannot be fixed and was told this is normal because as soon as the divider is removed it turns off the bottom heat sensor. The geek squad tech said he has never seen such a large temperature difference within a cavity of an oven. Be advised that it is hard to cook more than one food item at a time with the divider out. If you need everything cooked at the same temperature, or if you are cooking a large item, make sure the bottom of it is cooked and the top isn't overcooked. I have cooked in lots of ovens here and overseas over the years we were in the military, this one is the hardest to get good results. I have been actively cooking and baking for over 40 years.

I have had this installed for a few weeks now and can give a few pros and cons.... Pros: Stove top heats quickly and cleans up nice. Illuminated dials show when one is on with a glance, which is nice when you have a burner turned on but is not lit. Wi Fi controls a bit cumbersome, but nice to adjust oven and timer from your phone. Oven heats rapidly and convection cooks really quick without adjusting recipe temps. ----------------------------------- Cons: Top oven has a tendency to crisp up the top of things being baked. DO NOT USE TOP OVEN FOR CAKES as it will burn the top before it even is done. Pizza, cookies, meats and such come out fine. Even cooked a frozen pie well in the top as long as the rack in the top portion is at it's lowest. sometimes a bit of foil covering will help keep the tops from scorching. Remember the heating comes out of the TOP burner which is also used to broil, so it's quite hot. We typically keep the rack in the top oven at it's LOWEST point. The oven vents it's heat from top back of the unit which will melt things hanging on the back-splash. Keep in mind that the heat coming from these vents is quite intense and I advise a heat resistant back-splash wall like tile, stone or metal. --------------------- Conclusion: Because I didn't expect it to run exactly like a typical dual oven, I'm not disappointed. I'm learning where to place things to get the best results. My mother-in-law absolutely loves it even with the top oven issue. Nothing that couldn't be adjusted. I have instructed her to use the lower oven for corn bread and cakes to help with the top burning issue. I'd give it 5 stars, but with the limitations from the top oven and WiFi features being so limited, I have given it 4.

My recently rebuilt home (#RebuildforLindsay), needed a good quality range and I always wanted to own a gas range. After spending much time on Pintrest, I narrowed down my dream oven and came across this Samsung range at the store. I love all of the great features that it offers, I haven't used them all yet, like the Smart feature, but I'm getting there. My builder set it up so I am unsure of that part of the process. Everyday use is so much fun and I am never worried about any dangerous gas leaks. The flames on the stove burn even and each burner has a different burner size for different size pans. I am able to cook up to 5 different things at a time using different pans. The flame settings are easy to adjust from really high to really low and just in between. It's much better than electric because it heats things up much quicker. There is a heavy duty cast iron griddle that is included which is specifically designed for the middle burner. One side is flat and the other has slits in it, its great for making pancakes or grilling steaks. Its does get messy but clean-up is easy by removing the cast iron burners. The dual oven is awesome and I typically use the bottom one only for cooking. The top portion will burn food quick and it's better to be used for broiling. There is a middle shelf can be easily removed to cook something bigger, like a large casserole. The touchscreen for the stove is easy to use. The only thing that I don't like is that when I have the oven on and I need to lean to get to the back burner, I turn the oven off with my stomach. It's a little sensitive and I'm not sure if that can be adjusted. I am proud of purchase and this stove is the center piece of my new kitchen!

What is there not to love about this range? I have to admit, I was a little skeptical about mechanical operation of the FlexDuo oven doors from a mechanical perspective, but I am very pleased! To elaborate, knowing that you make a trade of needing to open the top oven to get to the bottom one for a clean, single door design, is one thing but the mechanical operation of this was brilliantly designed; the top door is essentially a door on/through the larger door. This means that when you pull the handle without holding the lever/switch (that unlatches only the top door) the entire oven door opens without any flimsiness or "locked" hinges. No need to worry about this getting frustrating over time as things wear down because it's legit one large door! Then, when holding the lever, just as easy as the entire door the top section opens but while leaving the entire door firmly attached to the unit! Love the design; hard to put into words clearly but I think Samsung NAILED this from an engineering perspective. Moving on, the convection heating - coupled with the fact that it's a gas range - it's very efficient and cooks very evenly. So far, it's been a pleasure - from roasting veggies to baking cookies, this has been a great experience. The stovetop is also incredible and very flexible. It's easy to make modifications to the arrangement so long as you remember to do so ahead of time. Everything on the top is cast iron, so it's heavy and stays hot for a little while, but not so much so that it interferes with the "instant off" benefits of gas cooking. Coming from electric to this unit, I cannot be happier. From a safety perspective - and one of the biggest reasons I wanted this unit in particular - knowing that the knobs (which are on the front of the unit) are lit when gas is flowing is outstanding. From across the house I can tell if the gas is on and that is a wonderful peace of mind. Not to mention that, when all else fails, it's SmartThings connected so I can check on the status or even make adjustments to oven temperatures. Very very satisfied with this purchase!

If I could do it all again I’d probably choose differently. I chose this range mainly for the super hot burner, better (though, still not great) center burner and potential convenience of the semi “double oven”. The super burner is amazing, both front burners are. I haven’t much used the other 3, but center burner is ok, better than the useless one on my old (and horrible LG) convection range. The oven(s) as two separate ovens have been less glorious. With the divider removed and as one oven it’s been great. We’re still trying to work out a manageable temperature conversion for the top oven but it scorched the crap out of some brownies on our first attempt. With the divider in, the bottom oven size is an absolute joke. Great if you’re cooking two take and bake pizzas that need different temps/times but not much else. We’ve removed the divider and found that it doesn’t fit in the bottom drawer!!! Why would you design it this way Samsung? Now I have to find a place to store the divider because I’ll rarely ever have it in. I should have played with it more in the store, my mistake. It is otherwise a fantastic range so far but don’t buy this thinking that you’re getting a oven that can cook a medium to large turkey in the bottom and a few side dishes up top. Not happening unless you spatchcock your bird. If the burners were as good on the single oven version I would have returned this for that, but they’re not, so oh well. Flex duo is pretty much a gimmick. But as a normal oven it’s great. The smart features are just meh, kinda cool but meh. I haven’t installed the hood yet so I haven’t tested the connectivity between the two yet but fingers crossed.

The range top is incredible--from a VERY hot sear, to a very gentle simmer, it lets you do it all. The middle burner, which comes with a griddle, I will probably use more for large pots as the griddle takes quite a bit of time to heat up and is kind of a pill to clean. I'd rather sear (steak, tuna, etc) in a pan on the highest burner, or make eggs etc in a fry pan. I really don't eat pancakes and sausage and bacon just splash grease all over when cooking on the griddle. And that would be the case for any center griddle on any range. BUT the spectrum of control that the gas range gives you really lets you make ANYTHING! It's absolutely wonderful. The best part though, I think, is the oven featuring the 2 different compartments that you can set at 2 different temperatures. Even though there's just the two of us, I have used this feature many times already. I primarily use just the smaller upper compartment but there are times when I need both OR I need the combined larger compartment, which I can easily do! I'm excited about cooking Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people in it! The convection oven works better than any other convection oven I have ever owned over the last 20 years! The temperature is very accurate and the results come out moist and evenly baked or roasted. LOVE this range; would buy it again in a heartbeat. Well worth the extra bucks due to it's versatility and quality!

I researched and researched before deciding on the FlexDuo from Samsung. The blue light indicator on the dials was the difference that made me choose this over the other very similar model. I wanted to easily know if the burner was on or off. We had Best Buy deliver and install the range, and couldn't be happier. They were on time, proactive and thorough with ensuring it was installed properly and that we knew how to use it. The installers also recommended running the oven at 425' for an hour before cooking anything, to help burn off any manufacturing residue. Additionally, I would recommend seasoning the HEAVY cast iron griddle on both sides before your first use (will make flipping pancakes much easier)! You can google recommended methods. With the blue indicator lights and the satisfying, conclusive click of the dials, the heat control feels accurate and consistent. Meanwhile, the touchpad screen that controls the dual ovens is intuitive, even for a busy mom like me who doesn't have time to read the manual. Samsung knows how I think. All in all, we love how it looks and works, and look forward to making more complicated meals now that we have the flexibility of the double oven. (It's also VERY pretty alongside our matching Samsung french door refrigerator.) Five stars!

I was not really sure at first if i wanted a slide in as opposed to a freestanding but now that i have it i like it a lot. The oven controls are far more accessible and easy to get to since they are in the front of the unit.I also have a custom tile back-splash that can be seen much easier. Everyone will have to decide for themselves whether or not the add cost is worth it but in my case i would say yes. As for functionality my only real beef is the "high efficiency" burner (front right). Its clam to fame is 22,000 btu's and can boil water very fast. That is true however in my case the flames wrap around the sides of the pot and make the handles untouchable. Not a huge deal now but a very big surprise the first time. i now actually find myself using the other front burn most often now. Also take notice that you can not "conventional bake" with the top over. You can broil and convection bake. If you want to conventional bake you have to use the lower over or pull the divider to make it 1 big over. I do love the oven and an very happy i purchased it. The above mentioned "issues" are more "learning curve" than anything else.

I love this oven. I saved for a long time and did research on all the slide in gas ranges on the market. This one met all my needs. The center divider slides out to make the double oven one large oven. that is a big plus in my book. But when choosing which oven to use (top vs bottom) remember that the top one has the heating element on the top (like a broiler) and the bottom oven has the heating element on the bottom. When using the convection option, the oven will instantly cool itself down when turned off. The only time the oven stays warm afterwards is when the center divider is out of the oven and you choose the keep warm option. The top of the range is a thin stainless steel that shows every water mark and stains easily. I call it my fussy range because you have to wash it with the right hand and immediately dry it with the left hand or it instantly shows water marks. Would i purchase it again. Yes! Spending a few minutes cleaning it is not a problem for all the advantages that the different baking options have.

Bought this range to replace a very old range so my opinion of how great it is may be slightly jaded, but none the less,The technology is great with the WiFi integration and mobile app support. (side note; mobile app is lacking in UI and needs some help, but it works.) My favorite features have to be; 1) the internal cooking probe that will tell you the temp of your food without having to open the door and lose heat and 2) the split oven capabilities; it's nice to not be married to fixed split oven which typically have limited space in either the top or bottom sections. So far, my one complaint or rather quark I'm still dialing in is that the oven cooks much hotter than the temp stated or set to. If I had to guess, I would say it's off by 15 degrees or so. Not a big deal, but something that I wish I knew with having to burn/over cook a few dishes. I bought this unit based off a highly rated consumer reports review and went off brand from the rest of my appliances, which are Whirlpool, when buying this range. I'm glad I did and will be looking to move all appliances to Samsung products moving forward.

We got this as an open box floor model and it was marked down 65% off retail. Very nice range and looks great in the kitchen. We had a dual oven before this one and the bottom oven broke so we only were able to use the top oven. The top oven was a much smaller oven cavity then the Samsung and it always burned food. The Samsung has a larger top oven and the rack goes very low and the convection oven moves the heat around well and we have not burned anything and cooks very quickly. The flat griddle is great for grilled cheese and pancakes. we have not used the the meat side of the griddle since we would think the grease splatter would be messy but imagine it would cook just as well. Not sure if this or any residential oven is worth the $2800 retail price but if you can get this one cheap it is loaded with nice features and seems it will last a very long time.

I’ve had my new range for about 2 months now. I spent a lot of time researching which range would be best for me and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! I love to bake and was looking for an oven that had convection. I also wanted a double oven to be able to make 2 things at once and the smaller oven to be able to warm food quickly. This oven has all of that with the ability to convert to a full size oven if need be. The stove top has a powerful burner that brings water to a boil very quickly. The top is stainless steel. I was worried that it would be difficult to clean, but that hasn’t been a problem at all. I highly recommend this range!

We were shopping for sale items and this one was full price, but it was worth it! The only negatives I can say are that the stovetop is not enamel, which is much easier to clean, and the divider does not sit in the storage drawer in the bottom. It is very large, and I don’t want to put it on the floor. We have been putting it on top of the fridge until we can figure out something better. I love using just the top oven when I am cooking one thing. And I have really enjoyed being able to make batches of two different cookies at once. It gives you so many options. I like that I can dehydrate fruit in it - one less kitchen gadget I have to have! The range is beautiful. The power burner boils water really fast. And I love the wok attachment...fun bonus.

This was the stove I wanted. Reading reviews changed my mind & I started looking at other stoves. I read more reviews and really thought about what people were saying. In the end I went with my gut and bought this. I'm not disappointed that I bought it but it is a learning curve. Burners on high are way too hot, except on center grill burner that you want on high heat. I have yet to use the bottom oven. Top oven at high heat has cooked unevenly right to left which is weird so I'm having qeek squad out to check. It's beautiful tho. I love the flexibility of dual oven. Oven heats to temp very quickly. I love the quick boil and the simmer Burners. We can't seem to get WiFi connected and my husbands a programmer so that's a little frustrating. I absolutely love how the knobs light up when in use. I used to have a terrible habit of leaving burners on low for a very long time, this blue light prevents me from doing that!

We upgraded to this rage when we were fed up with our GE we had. I wasn't at first interested in a double oven but when looking at this one we realized how much space there actually was. In addition, having it convertible from double to single is a great addition. I will say though that it can be a little hard to get items in and out of the top as you have to reach in and down when you open the top one up. I also like that the BTU's that it puts on of the gas burners are better than our other one. We can actually boil water much faster now. In addition, event with the higher BTU's the stove will actually hold pots a a true simmer without burring what I am cooking. The middle burner/grill take a bit to heat up though and is small so it can be hard to actually cook enough bacon on it for our family.
