• There is a devider plate in the warming drawer of the oven. Remove this insert (plate) and put it in the oven just below the small oven door. You'll see a groove. When it is inserted all the way, you'll hear a beep noise indicating that it is seated all the way. On the console of the oven on the left, it'll have a button to push for top oven. This will allow you to use the small oven only. When done, remove it to use the whole oven or leave it if you want to keep the small oven separate. This makes it 2 ovens, upper and lower. Lower oven button is on the right on console.

• Yes, you can use only the top or only the bottom. The buttons on the back top of the stove control them separately and by removing the divider plate, it controls the entire oven.
