I don't think so but I recall reading I bought the phone at a substantial discount because I was agreeing to use it with TracFone. I've seen the phone priced over double what I paid. I am not a heavy enough talk, text, and data user to need more than TracFone, but I do use the wi-fi and many of the applications on this phone a lot. By the way, TracFone uses AT&T lines. I am very satisfied with Galaxy J7 crown and TracFone.

As I understand it, Tracfone deals with a number of big cell networks. The reason Tracfone wants to know where you live before sending your phone is that they want to know which of the carriers they deal with works best in your area, (or maybe which one they have the best deal with in your area...) so they can set your phone to that carrier. Mine is using Verizon.
