What does it mean by unlocked? null

An "unlocked" device is not attached to any carrier, thus you have the option to use the phone with any carrier of your choice.

Unlocked means that you can use with any cellular phone carrier, I.e., ATT or TMobil. Or Verizon.....

It means no matter the Cell carrier their sim card can be used.

you can take the phone to any carrier. Although I think I'm having signal issues on verizon with it.
