No. This is a Verizon promotion that does not say it, but locks you into a 2 year contract. If you want to pay off the Verizon contract, they will bill you the balance of the list price minus your payments. Take the deal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I take my prior answer back. It appears that with Best Buy, it is an instant discount, not 24-mos. credit. So you would have to agree to the 24-mo. device payment plan, and you'll need to review the terms, but you might be able to pay in full the first month and be done with the 24-mo. commitment.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You *CAN* get the phone for the discounted price; I had this same question and couldn't find a straight answer until the very end of the process before you submit your payment. You will agree to Verizon terms, if you read the fine print it shows that essentially you are getting a loan for the full retail amount. BUT, BestBuy's discount essentially acts as a down payment. So, the amount financed is actually the discounted price. So you can sign up for the 24 monthly payments at a discounted price then pay off the phone immediately (or, actually, after the 14 day return period). Unlike buying straight from Verizon, the discount is NOT applied as a monthly bill credit. It is applied as a down payment. This is why you're still required to pay tax on the full amount.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No I don't believe you can. The reason the 24-mo. commitment price is cheaper is that you are committing to use Verizon service for 24 months, which is how they make their money back for giving you the discount, which is basically given as a bill credit each month for 24 months; if you pay off early, you don't get the full discount. If you buy the unlocked version, since there is no guarantee that you'd stay with Verizon, they don't want to give you a discount. Not saying I like it, just explaining why.
