I was at Best Buy to pick up the S8 plus to find out that the Sprint plan I am on is no longer available if I get a new phone unless I buy the phone. The phone at Best Buy was $899.

Good question. The 24 monthly installments equal $750 which is $100 less than Sprint's retail. And, I saw some fine print saying $899 is for retail not activated.

Best Buy adds an extra amount on the full retail price. If you take the monthly payment and multiply that by 24 you will see the true price.
