Hi, I bought it and did not buy the AT&T option with a plan. I took it to Central America where a new SIM card was inserted to have it work there. So far, so good.

Please try again later.It's not unlocked, it's an ATT line but you can do that by calling ATT, they can help you with that since you dont have obligations or any carrying balance in that matter (you bought it as non-commitment price). I have tried it before when i asked them to unlock my phone. I hope I was able to share some info that would help.

The device comes with a sim card that you can go to best buy or AT&T to activate and put a data plan or if you already have one you can exchange the sim card. But if you want to use it for another company with a data plan AT&T doesn't unlock the device for you.
