No you can buy just a cover without a keyboard, but I recommend buying the keyboard cover, remember the keyboard will fiscally connect to the tablet with the 3 pin connector on the keyboard also don't forget the tablet does DEX to so it turns into a desktop add a USB or Bluetooth mouse and set to go!
