It's Bluetooth 5.0, so you'll need to be within an estimated max range of 800 feet (no obstruction). I can leave my phone in the locker at my local planet fitness and still use my Bluetooth 5.0 devices without any interruption. So long as all devices syncing are 5.0, you might not be able to leave it in the car, but the locker should be just fine.
