LTE you can use your watch without your phone. Its like a cell phone
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The LTE version connects to your cell phone providers Mobile network independently from your phone! In most cases I believe it's a $10 extra monthly charge to get the watch activated on your mobile Network. What this means is the Watch doesn't need your cell phone to be close by for you to be able to reply to text or email or stream music. For instance if you went for a run all you would need is the LTE version watch, phone not needed. But if you have the Non-LTE version you would need your phone with you for your watch to function properly. LTE version still has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functionality, So it will work the same as the Non-LTE version until you get it activated on your Mobile providers Network. Hope this helps

The LTE version can receive calls and messages without being connected to a phone. However, you'll first need to activate service for your watch through the same carrier as your mobile phone. ^Elizabeth
