• it has gps. it does not work with life 360 app though.

• This is a fantastic alternative. The watch needs to have the LTE connection to a phone if it's not with a phone. The LTE version emergency mode will continue sending location once activated until turned off. You can disable the distractions like text, calls, etc by using the app on the associated phone, so it's probably exactly what you are looking for.
