Is this watch water proof null

It is water resistant but not waterproof.

I wear my Active 2 LTE swimming at the surface for about 15 minutes and my watch quit working. One time wet and it failed. No warranty.

Yes, i have had many generations of Galaxy watches and i never had issue with water *shower, swimming, etc.)

Yes it is. It also has a setting where u can set it to not move incase water drops were to fall on the watch. For example washing the dishes, water drops can hit the watch.
