You have to select your activity. The pedometer is always on (if you have it set to always be on) but you have to tell it what exercise you are going to do (walk/hike/run/cycle) or that you are going to sleep.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It tracks the pedometer automatically unless you choose a different exercise. To record sleep, you have to press sleep and then end sleep but it automatically measures how much is motionless and the pedometer will still measure during sleep designated time. The heart rate is when you select it as are other exercises like running etc, I just leave it on pedometer all the time as I get the best idea from that and don't have to keep switching the types.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No it will not automatically track your workouts or sleep. Your steps on the other hand will always be tracked. But if you want to track walking or running or your sleep, you just simply select it (it takes less than 10 seconds to do it).
