It does with just a slight touch...

It is not glow in the dark, but the screen itself is back-lit just like any smartphone screen which can be adjusted to 10 different brightness settings. The screen is off when not in use to conserve battery, but comes on when you need it. You control whether to have the screen turn on automatically when you lift your wrist, or with the push of a button/scroll of the dial.

There is an option so that it is always on. Otherwise, when it is charging, it is not backlit until you interact with it via the rotating bezel or a button.

It loghts up by the motion of your arm when you go to look at it or if message/call come in. You can set the brightness of watch face that is not as bright

There are two methods to accomplish something of this nature. 1. ALWAYS ON mode. With this mode the watch will always have the time displayed with large numerals. 2. MOVEMENT DETECTION mode. When you move your arm and hand in the motion to bring the watch up to check the time, the watch will display the time.

You can change the brightness on your own and it does it automatically plus you can change and download different watch faces!
