“Hello, do the rubber ear fittings need to be removed from the ear buds each time they need placed inside the case to charge? Am I doing something wrong that they don't fit in the case unless i remove the rubber fittings? Thanks!”

You shouldn’t have to remove the fitting. You will need to place the ear buds in the correct plot in the case….L eft on the left side and R ight the right side of the case.
