• Yes, it plays from the phone, as well as from the on-board memory if you upload songs to it. I normally play from the phone, as well as watch movies, and they work great, other than the battery life (around 2 hours, sometimes less). But if you're frequently interrupted, or only using them in spurts (or have shorter workouts), then they're great, as you put them back in the case to recharge.
