Works with my Samsung Note 5 should work with anything newer. There's two types of watches one that works off wifi in your phone's internet connection in one that has its own mobile plan. Not sure which one Verizon's is but I suspect it has a mobile plan

The Verizon Gear S3 has the capability of tapping into Verizon's mobile network to give its own phone number and use mobile data (streaming music and receiving updates) without it being attached to your phone, which can be useful if you want to workout without bringing your phone. However, if you have your phone with at all times or do find the need to pay the extra fees associated with giving your watch its own phone number, then getting the regular Gear S3 will be good enough.
