A:AnswerThere is a little key that looks like a dash above the send button on the top left hand side of the phone. If you press this key, the phone is on mute. It is easy to do, so double check that your phone is not on mute.

A:AnswerI've been all over the country and feel confident in saying that Verizon has the best network of any cell service. We get a fairly bad echo in the phone at times though. Not sure if it's related to signal strength or something else. It's my understanding that dropped calls has less to do with the phone than the service. Services that use others networks are the worst for dropped calls, because when a network is full, they tend to kick off the piggy backers to make room for their own customers. We've rarely had dropped calls with Verizon in the past with a contract service. I assume Prepaid will be the same way, but we just recently switched to prepaid, so time will tell.
A:AnswerHi not sure about your location coverage but for children would be great basic or first phone. It is for the most part easy to operate and has basic features but if your looking for a good phone for them to browse the internet you may want to look else where. Great for call and simple text. Hope this helped have a great day.
