depending the distance I have devices a lot further then 20 feet and working well. repeaters can be purchased to extend the range also if adding devices in between some of those devices act as a repeater the more devices the stronger the communication web.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Some devices need to be within 20 feet to pair, so far I've only run into this with the Samsung Camera, but the rest should pair from any distance that the hub can access. I've paired lights, switches and sensors that were more than 20 feet away from the hub. Note that the Samsung wall outlet can also act to extend the hub's range. In my setup the hub is upstairs in one corner of the house and I have an outlet downstairs at the opposite corner of the house.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They will still pair. It may just take a little longer. My Kwikset lock worked fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe if you used 4 * AA batteries on the internal slot, so you can use as a portable hub to pair your z-wave devices. If not, just plug in the hub to a power outlet or extension cord near the door locks. You probably want a bulb or another device between the hub and locks, so that the lock can sync that z-wave or other Wireless protocols and then the that device daisy chain the signal to the hub for larger coverage.
