“My router is far from my room. But I want the Hub in my room. Do I have to plug it into my router? Can I set the whole thing up via wifi without plugin it into the router via cable?”

Great question, Bobby007! The 3rd generation SmartThings Hub can be set up using WiFi or an Ethernet connection. No problem. You can set it up either way. No need to plug it into the router, works great for me. As long as you have WiFi.

The later model will connect to your router via WiFi. You may need to connect directly once during setup.
