This will not hear the siren sounds. However, smartthings creates a Water Leak detector for this purpose. https://www.smartthings.com/works-with-smartthings/sensors/samsung-smartthings-water-leak-sensor It'll detect water and let you know via text. Might be nice to add to your system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No these would not work for that application however they do offer Water sensors that are made specifically for that. The water sensor then in turn could send you a text or have other actions happen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would recommend purchasing the Smartthings Water sensors. But you can do to the developers community (Github) and see if they have any code. If it works with zware or zigbee should not be a problem but I would spend the $30 and just buy a Smartthings Water Sensor.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The multi-purpose sensor is not equipped for sound detection but if your siren is strong enough to generate vibration, you might be able to hack it, using the sensor on it's vibration detection via the g-sensor capability. I didn't try but it could work. I guess the simplest is to buy water sensor from smartthings as the cost is same as the multi-purpose sensor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think this multipurpose sensor would work for that. It does not detect sound, it just detects that the two pieces of the sensor are no longer aligned. smartThings does have their own water leak detection device which does notify you via text.
