• It is a Zigbee plug, so just about any "hub" that supports Zigbee will work. SmartThings, Hubitat, etc. will work.

• A hub is needed for all Smartthings devices. Alexa works with the hub but does not replace it.

Yes, all SmartThings sensors and devices need the corresponding SmartThings v3 Hub and the newest version of the SmartThings App. Once the Hub is setup and installed, you can then add the Outlet as a new device. From there you can pair with Alexa. • Echo plus is a Zigbee hub in itself so it should work with this outlet.
