Customers are impressed with the SmartThings Smart Outlet's ease of use, compatibility with other smart home systems, and reliable connectivity. Many appreciate the straightforward setup process and the outlet's consistent performance. While some find the size a bit large and the price higher than expected, the positive feedback on functionality outweighs these concerns. The outlet's voice control capabilities are also frequently praised.

This socket was easy to install. A snap to add to ST app. It also doubles as a repeater/extender which I needed. A little pricey but it's one of the few that are ST ready. Wemo is the other brand.

I purchased these to control plugin lamps in my home rather than go with smart light bulbs. They hooked into the Smart Things Hub very easily and I've got them integrated into Google Assistant. Again not a problem. Most of the time they work on a timer but on occasion I have used voice to turn them on early. No problem. Only wish I could have the plugs be integrated with sunrise/sunset.

Replaced another brand's smart outlet that used wifi. This is by far much more reliable. That other device would disconnect from the network frequently.
As a bonus, this can act as a repeater for other smartthings sensors.
I've paired it with the smartthings hub v2. It was pretty easy to setup compared to other smartthings products.
The top button to turn it on and off means it has to go in the top outlet though.

This was by far the easiest set-up I have done. It helps having a Galaxy Note 8 since Samsung phones come pre-prepared for SmartThings. The problem is the app itself. The rules are very odd and you can't do some very intuitive ones (like off and on at a set time) without having to split up the rules. I only have 1 thus far, so I can't say how they act when multiple are present. I am slowly phasing out the dreadful WeMo.
To further on set-up, all I had to do was plug it in. My phone automatically discovered it on my network since I already had installed a SmartThings router/hub combo. Once discovered, it was just assign to room, do the rules, and forget it exists. So far I had to redo installation once due to a bad update on the router (power outage just happened to occur mid update) the resulted in a factory reset. I'm not entirely sure I would continue this set-up outside my current living arrangement (apartment) since the router/hub is not up to my standards in terms of functionality and raw power. In a home I would prefer the set-up I have in my aunt's place which is gigabit home networking that is combo WiFi and wired. There, I installed a Wink Hub 2 for smarthome things. I believe this SmartThings would be compatible with a Wink Hub since I believe it uses one of the standards. Maybe I can transfer over the plug, or maybe I'll just get a new router and leave current one as a smart hub only (it's possible to deactivate WiFi...I think).
Overall, I like it. Wish it was a bit thinner. But I like that it tells me power draw when active. It was stupidly easy to install.

These smart outlets work as expected and are easy to set up/connect to our SmartThings Hub. You do need a SmartThings Hub in order to use this. I wish this outlet was smaller and didn't stick out from the wall as much as it does but I'm over it. I use them in places where they are mostly hidden.
We have our SmartThings Hub connected to our Echo Show so we can ask Alexa to turn the devices plugged into these smart outlets on/off without always using the SmartThings app.

I used this plug with a smart button in a home build before light switches per se (pre WWII). I installed it about the light in the ceiling space and attached the smart button by the door. PERFECT!

I have three of these as part of my SmartThings Smart Home Monitor. I use these to turn on my home-brew sirens since I wasn't happy about the commercially available options.
They are easy to setup and seem reliable so far.

This switch is instantaneous. Pairs easily with the 1st gen hub and works very well with Google home. I used it for Christmas lights and now I have it controlling a fan.

Works well for SMALL appliances

I originally purchased this with the intent of plugging our washing machine (15A) into the outlet and having a SmartThings event of when water is detected by an accompanying water sensor to shut off the power to the washing machine - because valve shut offs are quite expensive and more prone to error.
While the plug did work, when the washing machine drew too much power (despite it being a 15A max circuit), it shut off the plug due to overload and I had to reenable it to start the washer again.
We have a traditional washing machine, so this wasn't a terrible inconvenience, but overall, did not meet my needs.
For those looking to power lights/etc. that are not high draw appliances, this would be perfect: much easier to install than a full outlet, and still allows for re-broadcast of the mesh network.

I've just started making my home a smart home. This was my first purchase. It was easy to set up and link with my Alexa. I am able to turn on my lights either with voice command or through the app.

You get what you pay for and with your getting Samsung's outstanding quality and performance. I bought a few other less expensive models from other manufactures prior to stepping up and paying more for these. Wish I had saved myself the time and money and just purchased these first. I have a couple Amazon Echo Shows 2nd gen. and these will connect directly WITHOUT the need for the Samsung SmartThings Hub.

I have been protecting/automating my home with the SmartThings system for over a year now and it very reliable. I save money on utilities expenses and sleep sounder at night knowing I have some level of protection. It works well with a large number of ancillary devices such as security cameras and thermostats.

This works great with SmartThings app. I like the option to read the power usage. It is not the cheapest but works great, easy to connect into ST app. Many other manufactures can work in ST but you typically have to install the device app and then link it to ST. It works...but this is so much easier and cleaner.

I have a number of these plugs that I use with the SmartThings hub. I have had zero issues with reliability or connections.... they just work, day after day. A simple thing, but the manual override switch on the side is a nice, accessible switch. These switches also act as signal carriers, improving the signal coverage in the house. I buy another one or two each month.
