• Yes, I have a lamp connected to my SmartThings plug that turns on whenever motion is detected on my Ring doorbell camera. I am using the SmartThings Hub version 2 (2015 model) to connect both devices. This can be done by setting up an "Automation" in the Samsung SmartThings app.

• No. A ring doorbell is either hardwired or battery operated.
