• The Fios router supports 2.4 and 5 GHz so the smartplug will select 2.4Ghz and function normally.

• No, but most routers that support 5ghz have a 2.4ghz option (required for this smart plug) you might want to check to see if your router supports 2.4ghz. You don’t want to use a 5ghz connection, because the wavelengths are slimmer, compared to a 2.4ghz signal. Anything/anyone in-between the router/plug can disrupt the 5ghz signal.

• It works as long as you plug it into the receptacle, then use your smart thing app to activate voice control. It handles split routers 2.4 G and 5.0 G well.
