The Fios router supports 2.4 and 5 GHz so the smartplug will select 2.4Ghz and function normally.

Please try again later.No, but most routers that support 5ghz have a 2.4ghz option (required for this smart plug) you might want to check to see if your router supports 2.4ghz. You don’t want to use a 5ghz connection, because the wavelengths are slimmer, compared to a 2.4ghz signal. Anything/anyone in-between the router/plug can disrupt the 5ghz signal.
