QuestionMy Samsung tv remote works on wifi. It will literally work the tv from another room. I need a blueray player that does the same because our components are in a cabinet. Is this capable of that?

QuestionMy newish ubd-m8500 can't read the codex on season 12 Big Bang Theory (or a few other new shows), and ejects the disc saying Can't play disc Doesn't meet specifications. Samsung support thinks it is normal that a new player can't play common discs.

- Answer I'm having the same problem. I can't return a BluRay disc set to Bestbuy that won't play on my UHD DVD player that I also bought at BestBuy. Is there a label on Blueray discs that indicates the player requirements ? I'd hate to think I threw away $50 for something that doesn't work as advertised.

QuestionIs Disney Plus available on this unit?

- Answer The Disney Plus app is not preloaded or available in the list of apps when you search (no Apple TV either) as this is an older model. However, there is an option to search/use the internet where you can go to the Disney site and log in to Disney Plus. Not as convenient as having an app to open, but you can get there. I do not have Disney Plus myself so I can’t tell you how well that works. Hope that helps you.

- Answer I purchased a new Samsung tv, Samsung sound bar and Samsung 4K player at the same time. The sound bar connected to the tv ARC port via hdmi. The blue ray/4K ultra player connect via hdmi. So, anything the tv plays is automatically connected and controlled thru the tv. I believe this would be the same for almost any setup, as long as you’re connected from tv to sound bar.

- Answer Yes, but since it is attached to my Samsung 55" UHD 4K 7 series with WiFi, I don't use the WiFi on the Blu-Ray... I did connect it with a better HDMI cable. It seems to upscale regular CDs and Blu-Ray discs and the picture is stunning. I haven't seen any 4K DVDs.

QuestionWhat is the web browser in this DVD player? I have a Samsung 3D player that is several years old but does not support the new Disney Plus App because it says it has a Chromium series 25 browser but it plays the Amazon Prime and Netflix Apps.

- Answer The browser is the Samsung one. I just checked and it does not support Disney +. The app is also not available. 2014 software version. And I dont believe Samsung is making or supporting Blu Ray players anymore.

QuestionI just purchased this and I plan on using the app streaming since my tv was recently dropped by several apps. The box shows Hulu as an app but set up doesn’t offer it. Any idea why it’s not there and how I can get it? I updated the software already.
