You can format this drive and really any drive to whatever file system that you want/need. I have (2) of these, 1 is used as my Playstation 4 external Hard Drive and the Playstation formatted it to EXFAT. The other I have is split into 2 separate partitions (which read like 2 separate devices plugged in). One partition is formatted as NTFS and is used for regular windows docs. The second partition is FAT32 and I use that to back up and play my Wii games.
