yes it is. Although, it's a USB drive, so using the usb-c cable to your computer with the usb-c connector/thunderbolt port will work perfectly. You'll get near 500MBs that way.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is a valid question as I am also looking for a external SSD drive with Thunderbolt 3. The Thunderbolt 3 connector looks the same as a USB type C connector. Thunderbolt 1 & 2 have the older type connector. So technically this does have a Thunderbolt 3 connector but isn't Thunderbolt...ok now am confused! Also the USB type C interface on this T5 drive is USB 3.1 Gen 2...am still shopping, hope this helped you!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It has a high-speed USB 3.0 plug (to connect to your iMac as well as provide power to the external drive). It does not have a Thunderbolt receptacle on the drive.
