• Yep! I've been doing that for 4 months now without issue, very good read/write speeds for Xbox one as well. Just as fast as an 860 Evo connected with usb 3.1 to sata3 adapter.

• It could be. But I don't know if it would really be worth the money. Sure, it would load and save a little faster, but probably not as much as you'd think most of the time. Honestly you'd be better served going with a 4TB external - same price but 8x's as much storage.
