- Answer Yes, if you set up a daily back up procedure and use a program like Samsung's Magician Software 8.1. I have my SSD hooked up to my laptop computer all the time. It is easily disconnected if I shut down my laptop and go on a trip and then shows up immediately upon connecting the USB cable

- Answer I use it with my iPad Pro, so I’d assume so. If you want to use a password on it then download Samsung Magician app and you can use it just fine. You just need the cable.
