If you are asking if you can view 1080p content on this monitor, then yes, it does seem to scale. At least it worked fine when I forced 1920x1080 resolution onto it via my PC. However I dont think there is any post processing to make your 1080p signal "fake 4k". To me it still looks like a 1080p signal, on a bigger screen. Typically TVs with upscaling creates a slight bit of output lag, due to the extra processing. This is fine for movies etc. But is not something you want for a PC/Gaming monitor. Having 3-10ms of lag can ruin a competitive multiplayer experience, so I don't think you'll find many monitors that do this. Its technology designed for the living room where you have a lot of devices (DVDs, Bluerays, game consoles) that only output to 1080p, and you want some use out of your 4k tv, where lag doesn't matter as much.

Please try again later.Just as 4k tvs,if the video you are watching has an excellent picture quality such as a new bluray movie from Hollywood then yes it will look better in this monitor than in a regular 1080p monitor due the fact that thia monitor being 4k would have better resolution, color accuracy and contrast ratio, but again this will only be noticeable with specific movies, for example ( Avatar, Avengers, Transformers, etc)that sort of movies with great graphics
