• Yes you can use a 4 k dvd blue ray player make sure you plug into hdmi 2 and you will need to purchase speakers as par to this monitor doesn’t come with them but the picture is crisp with no complaints on my end use this monitor for my Xbox one X

• You do need speakers, and I don;t know about the 4K blu ray player, sorry. We hooked up Bluetooth speakers through our computer and on the other line, a plug in speaker.
