Yes as close as you can get for an HU9000 that you probably spent about $4,500.00 for without buying an new receiver for now $1,400.00 to $2,800.00 !!! It is your only choice !!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Actually, many F9000 series TVs from 2013 DO get HDR support via the SEK 3500U. I have a 55F9000, and I get full HDR support from games, Netflix, and 4K Blu Rays. The reason this is possible is because of the SEK 3500U upgrading all the components, and because Samsung used 10-bit panels later production models of the F9000 series. My panel , for example, is US07 which is 10-bit. Everything looks pristine. Will it beat the newer SUHD TVs? No, but it holds up quite well. HDR is a new technology and will continue to improve with 12-bit panels and greater than 1000 nits.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You're TV will be able to play with the new 4K players, as well upgrade your current Smart TV from what I'm assuming is quad core to octa core with the new VP9 to be able to support and stream 4K from YouTube. However, only select 2014 TVs will be able to support 4K HDR which is the HU9000, HU8700 and HU8550 but even then since 2014 and earlier TVs where edge lit they can't claim FULL HDR support. So my TV won't be as great as the 2015 4K TVs and no where even their Nano Crystal 4K TVs. I've noticed picture improvements, and it does look a lot better than what I had before. The biggest improvement I've seen was the 3D improvement. The depth is amazing, and it really is popping on the screen. So there's many reasons as to upgrade, but if you are wanting full HDR support then you would need to invest in one of their JS models or wait till the 2016 TVs launch and go on sale. However, Samsung said their TVs don't support both HDR formats, I don't know if it's an update that's needed or what but they only support HDR10, and not Dolby Vision HDR. Which is a shame because Star Wars will be in 4K Dolby Vision HDR.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sek-3500u will upgrade your HDMI inputs to 2.0a which is allows you to use 4k UHD devices such as the 4k bluray player. HDR support is built into the panel, so no..so if Samsung did not support HDR on your TV before, it won't support it.
