Can this dive be used to back up my desktop iMac? null

However, in order to know how to create the backup of your iMac into an External SSD Drive, it would be best to contact Apple Support.

yes, works fine, suggest you create a partition 2x larger than you have SSD memory. if you buy the 2T - you don’t need more than that for the backup
