It comes with a short cable but there was no separate siftware with mine, unless it's included in the file that was on the SSD. I have not opened that file.

I don't think the included software does anything with cloning, imaging, or updating like other SSD vendors (e.g. Samsung). https://www.sandisk.com/home/ssd/extreme-500-ssd 2) I don't see why it couldn't be used for incremental updates of data files via USB connection to a wireless router. Just format the drive as needed by the wireless router. However, SanDisk only mentions macOS and Windows. Also check to be sure the wireless router supplies the recommended amount of current. USB 3.0 ports can supply at least 900 mA while USB 2.0 ports can supply 500 mA. This will depend on your router. 3) Yes, the USB 3.0 cable is a little over 9 inches end-to-end (A-male to Micro-B).
