- Answer Who knows. I think it is best used as a backup/storage device. I don't believe it was developed to be part of an active recording component. (I could be wrong). It seems to be more for transferring your media from your sd cards which are designed with speed in mind. That's how I use it.

- Answer Making a MacOS system disk is more difficult with the latest MacOS versions. I reinstalled from the Apple system installer. You must format with the proper apple format. If the SSD is working properly electronically, just “Erase” to the correct format.
