“Is there any way when transferring photos from my iPhone to the flash drive to prevent the photos from being renamed or dates of the photos from being changed? This is potentially a major problem.”

Fortunately I was able to transfer photos from my iPhone to the iExpand disc (lightening) and the disc would save the same dates that the photos were taken.
