Please try again later.stay away from this drive, if possible return it for something better, I installed one of these about 2 years ago and it has already died no warning just crash,, I was not using for anything much other than running my os, however to answer the question yes you can replace your laptop hard drive with an SSD (provided your laptop supports SATA) just be prepared to do a fresh install of windows as well as a full backup of all of your data
