I would use a USB external drive to get data off an old laptop HD instead. The SSD is a SATA drive, so you would need some kind of SATA plug and a way to get power to the drive too. A USB would be much easier.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Get one of those usb to sata cables that attaches directly to the raw drive and plug into the usb port of the computer. Use clone software to clone the existing drive to the new one. Remove cable and replace the old drive with the new one.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can use the solid state drive as a traditional usb drive for backups. Try to get one with included software to make the cloning process easier. I had to make a backup disk, and it was a pain in the butt for me to figure out, but after that is done everything else is just so easy. I'm not a techy guy so I had to call the support guy for the company you mentioned. He sounds like Cristopher Walken. Lol I love my solid state drive though and it really did make a huge difference in load times! Only a few seconds instead of minutes now!!!
