“Do I recharge the unit from a computer or the mains here in the US? In India where household 220v? How do I recharge the battery? From a computer or from mains - I just got the basic unit without any special accessories for battery recharging. (2) I will be travelling to India with this unit where the common household current is at 212-220V as in UK. I suppose the local computers work at the same voltage as here and I could use a local computer to recharge my MP3 player. Please confirm”

Use your computer USB since USB output is a standard level worldwide. Just make sure your computer power supply is rated for the voltage in the wall socket!

The computers power supply will regulate the voltage supplied to the USB port so no need to worry about the outlet voltage. Just make sure to take your charging cable and you can connect it to any computer to charge the player.
