This unit will not plug directly into a J3 as I have both units and just tried it. If you have a wire that plugs into the phone with a female USB it might work but I cant verify as I do not have that, however I did find them selling for about $5 on the internet. I have no experience with an iMax G5 so I can't comment on that.
