YES, its formatted, by default, in FAT32. This means its entirely cross compatible with MacOS, Windows, Android, and basically everything else. However if you will have to reformat the device if you want to transfer files larger than 2gb.

We have a Macbook Air with USB ports and a Macbook PRO with USB-C ports. I can save files from the Macbook Pro onto the USB thumb drive to transfer to the Macbook Air, so it should work between the Mac and a Windows computer also. I do not have a Windows computer anymore, so I have not tried it out.
