• No it is not compatible. The HP Pavilion uses an M2 drive. Check out U tube.

• It is the same as any hard drive. Just make sure if your going to use it as the Operation system drive to copy (clone) the whole drive from your PC to the new drive than make sure your place the new one on the same SATA cable as your original drive. If you do not use a whole disk clone option you will be missing a necessary partition you need for your PC to boot to the new faster drive. There are many UTube videos to show this in case you are not a PC geek.
