A:AnswerI'm thinking you can mount it any where you want as long as the wall your mounting it to is sturdy enough to hold the weigh of the TV+mounting bracket. I'm looking at it for the very same reason. I'm buying a 24" vizio that weighs in at 5+lbs plus the mounting bracket to install it in my Airstream Basecamp. I'm also thinking, I'll need a way to lash it tightly to the wall while traveling or just remove the TV from it when traveling. I hope this help! This mount doesn't have a post-install lateral shift feature to center the mount once installed. If your stud is 2" off-center then when retracted your tv will most likely be 2" off-center.

It can support the weight and VESA pattern of your TV. However it is 10" over the max size that this mount can hold so I wouldn't recommend this mount for your TV. I would recommend our BMF320-S1 as it is made to hold up to 55" TVs.
