A:AnswerI do commercial framing and I would not mount anything larger than a 42" TV to steel studs unless they are heavy gauge suds. I doubt the studs are. Framers could have put a backer between the studs for max support.
Hope this helps.
A:AnswerYou will need a metal stud mounting kit along with this mount for a successful installation. The parts needed for meatal stud install does not come with this mount. Check out the Sanus SSMK1 metal studs mounting kit!

A:AnswerYes, this mount should be compatible with your TV. This mount can support your TV's 400x400mm VESA pattern and your TV is under the mount's 150lbs weight limit.

A:AnswerUnfortunately this mount will not work with a 850x500mm VESA pattern. This mount can only support up to a 600x400mm VESA pattern.

A:AnswerHi Deano38,
Yes — this mount is compatible with the TCL 75QM6K. Your TV falls within the supported 42″–90″ size range, and as long as its weight and VESA pattern are within the mount’s limits, it will work as intended.

A:AnswerHi there,
Yes — this mount is compatible with your Sony Bravia 55" 2 4K TV that uses a 300 × 300 mm VESA pattern. That falls within the supported range for this model, and a 55" screen is well within the size and weight limits as well.

A:AnswerHi Rob,
For a 75" TV, we generally recommend allowing at least 4–6 inches of clearance between the top of the TV and the ceiling. The exact spacing can vary based on mantle height and how much tilt you plan to use.
If you’d like help confirming the right placement for your setup, feel free to reach out to [email protected]
or 1-800-359-5520.

A:AnswerHi TJ,
This mount is not recommended for installation into metal or aluminum studs. It’s designed to be mounted into wood studs or solid concrete to safely support a TV of that size.
If your wall uses metal studs, additional wood backing or reinforcement would be needed for a safe install.
If you’d like help confirming your wall type or discussing options, feel free to reach out to [email protected]
or 1-800-359-5520.

A:AnswerHi SaraLou,
When this mount is fully retracted, the back of the TV sits about 2.1 inches from the wall.
If you have any other questions about clearance or installation, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]

A:AnswerHi Jim,
We don’t recommend using old holes for this mount, even if they’re located on studs. Re-using existing holes can compromise the strength of the attachment and isn’t considered a safe installation method for a heavy TV mount.
For proper support, the mount should be installed using new holes drilled directly into the studs following the installation instructions.
If you’d like help confirming stud locations or proper placement before installing, feel free to reach out to [email protected]
or 1-800-359-5520.
