A:AnswerI do commercial framing and I would not mount anything larger than a 42" TV to steel studs unless they are heavy gauge suds. I doubt the studs are. Framers could have put a backer between the studs for max support.

A:AnswerYou will need a metal stud mounting kit along with this mount for a successful installation. The parts needed for meatal stud install does not come with this mount. Check out the Sanus SSMK1 metal studs mounting kit!

We don’t recommend using old holes for this mount, even if they’re located on studs. Re-using existing holes can compromise the strength of the attachment and isn’t considered a safe installation method for a heavy TV mount.
For proper support, the mount should be installed using new holes drilled directly into the studs following the installation instructions.
